Questions We Hear a Lot

Decks & Porches FAQ

Composite or wood?

Depends on your budget and how long you want it to last with minimal upkeep. Composite costs more up front but lasts 25+ years with no staining. Treated wood is cheaper but needs sealing every couple years.

How long does a deck last?

Properly built and maintained, treated lumber decks run 15-20 years. Composite goes 25-30. Cedar and hardwood land somewhere between.

Do you tear down the old deck?

Yes. Teardown, haul-off, and disposal are included in the quote. You don’t lift a board.

Can you add a cover to an existing deck?

Yes, as long as the existing structure can carry the load. We check the posts, footings, and ledger first and tell you honestly if it needs reinforcement.

What’s your warranty?

Workmanship warranty on everything we build. Material warranty follows the manufacturer (composite usually has long warranties built in).
